Sunny Brow Playschool Ethos
‘It takes a village to raise a child..’
Our ethos is centred around providing high quality care, promoting positive partnerships with parents and carers, building connections within the community to create confident, considerate, curious learners who have a strong self of belonging.
We believe children thrive when they have the freedom to explore, imagine and play in a home from home environment. We nurture the whole child emotionally, socially and developmentally, through play, meaningful interactions and fulfilling relationships.
Our caring and experienced staff team provide safe and highly engaging learning spaces where children can choose activities that are provided based on the children’s interests and development needs to inspire them to be curious and confident learners and to discover the world around them.
The free flow approach allows children to move freely between indoors and outdoors. This flexibility supports independence, encourages decision-making and promotes a deep love for learning outdoors.
Our mixed age setting creates a family-like environment where children learn from each other. The older children lead with kindness, they develop empathy and independent skills to become confident, considerate and compassionate. The younger children learn through observing, curiosity and sharing experiences.
The continuity of care from a small, familiar and close staff team secures relationships between families and children with their key staff for long periods of time – giving a deep sense of belonging within the setting and community.

Meet the Team

Alex
Owner
I’m Alex, the owner of two nurturing early years settings, with my first nursery proudly established over 10 years ago and my second Sunny Brow Playschool in Coppull, where my Grandma ran the local playgroup for many years. I hold an Early Years Education degree and a PGCE, and I’m deeply passionate about supporting children to thrive.
As a mum of four wonderful children, aged 2 to 18, I bring both professional knowledge and real-life parenting experience into everything I do. I’m committed to creating environments where children feel valued and confident. I love reading, learning and continually developing my practice, and in my spare time to recharge I enjoy a good spin class, music festivals and family holidays.

Rachel
Room Leader
I live in the local community having moved from Manchester four years ago. I’m a crazy cat mum . I love to cook and curries are my specialty. I have worked in Early years since 1995. I have lot of experience with working in nurseries with all age groups but specifically the under twos. I’m passionate about exploratory play and providing a safe and secure environment to help the babies thrive.
My daughter has been going to sunny brow playschool since they opened in November. It’s a lovely little nursery, the children have access to the back play area constantly, which is great for my daughter as she loves being outside. Since she has been going to nursery she has come on leaps and bounds. From being socially awkward towards other children to having friends who she plays with. The staff have been amazing with everything. They really care for the children and also the parents. The manager Alex has helped me though a very rough patch. Reassuring me and giving top advice. Im so thankful to all staff for making my little girls upbringing more special.
- My little boy started Sunny Brow a month ago, he welcomes the staff with a hug and runs in every morning. The staff are fantastic with him, they have a caring nature and you can see that towards the children. The manager is also very approachable and accommodating, helping us with any questions we have. My little boy is coming on so well and learning something new each day. We have decided to move our older child to Sunny Brow in the New Year as we find this is much better than her current setting. I would highly recommend Sunny Brow to anyone especially given it’s a smaller, homely setting.
- My son has been attending Sunny brow for almost a month now and first impressions have been amazing! My son walked out on his first day and said ‘I love this nursery’ which has been very reassuring to hear. This move to Sunny Brow has come after switching him from another nursery nearby, which was a very busy setting that sometimes my son has struggled with. However with Sunny Brow being limited in numbers he has been just been thriving and we have seen fantastic progression over the last month. Another big selling point for Sunny Brow is the unlimited access to the garden with having a boy with lots of energy it been great for him get his wiggles out and enjoy the outdoors. The team have done a fantastic job at making sure he feels settled and send great updates about what he has been getting up to. They also make great effort to make sure that he feels special everyday and have a great understanding of what he needs as an individual. Would recommend this nursery to anyone! Looking forward to many more days in the new year! And for his little brother to start in the new year! Thank you
